About US

Established 2010 in Charlotte, NC.
Kandake & Cacao embody an Afro-Indigenous artistic symbiosis, weaving together their cultural roots and creative visions into a powerful and unified expression. As a deeply intertwined creative duo, their lives and work blend seamlessly, merging talents and perspectives to produce cohesive, impactful art that honors their heritage and pushes creative boundaries.

Through painting, performance, sculpture, and digital media, their artistic practice expands the boundaries of expression as a transformative experience. They have shared their work across various platforms and cities, creating spaces where stories are embraced and differences are celebrated as part of a shared fabric.

For Kandake&Cacao, art is a language of healing — a way to return to the essential, to awaken what has been silenced, and to inhabit the present with greater sensitivity. Each creation is an invitation to encounter: with oneself, with others, with the roots that sustain us, and with the questions that shape our existence.

ARTWORK

Their artistic universe weaves together techniques such as printmaking, sculpture, embroidery, punch needle, painting, drawing, mixed media, writing, dance, installations, and more. Each piece is a poetic gesture — a reminder that art, like life, is movement, rhythm, and belonging.
